Frequently Asked Questions

The script does not work or shows an error on startup

  • Make sure a document with the template is open in Illustrator
  • The first run takes longer due to a one-time integrity check — Illustrator may freeze briefly
  • Check the license status in the About dialog
  • Check the export_log.txt file for error details

The script does not update text fields

  • Text fields must have exact names matching the configuration (name, number, nickname, etc.)
  • Fields must not be locked or hidden
  • In Illustrator: the correct artboard must be active
  • Envelope Distort effect can cause issues — use Expand Appearance

Diacritics Issues

The most common cause is a font without the required characters. The script offers two modes:

  • Native — font must contain diacritical marks
  • Manual — the script adds diacritics as symbols (does not require font localization)

The new version includes automatic font validation that checks the availability of all characters before export.

Graphic numbers or logo in numbers are not inserted correctly

  • Symbols must be named exactly according to the configuration (digits 0–9)
  • Reference frames for the logo must exist in the template
  • Check the "Symbols" layer (CorelDRAW) or symbol library (Illustrator)

How do I get the demo version?

The demo is available for free:

The demo includes all features of the full version, limited to 30 runs and 20 CSV rows. Once the limit is reached, you can request a key to extend the demo (free, upon agreement) or upgrade to the full version.

How do I report a bug?

Please send to info@exportpdf.cz:

  • Description of the problem and what you were doing when it occurred
  • The export_log.txt file (found in the export folder)
  • Your Illustrator/CorelDRAW version
  • If possible, a sample template and CSV file

How long does response take?
